      <image:title>About</image:title>
<image:caption>Cecile Elias holds a Bachelor of Science in Fitness and Wellness from California University of PA. She began teaching Pilates in 2004 and is comprehensively trained through Power Pilates in New York and Annapolis. Other training includes yoga, TRX, group fitness, senior fitness, special cases, prenatal fitness and personal training. Cecile began Pilates at 15 years old as a way to exercise with a broken ankle. Because of Pilates, today Cecile enjoys better stability, strength, balance and flexibility than she had in her youth as a competitive dancer and cheerleader. As she began her training, she realized the benefits of staying Classical in the work. She is always eager to expand her knowledge and continues her education through regular workshops, conferences and lectures. Through these experiences, she has been fortunate to study from Amy Taylor Alpers, Chris Robinson, Brett Howard, Jay Grimes, Dana Santi, Mary Bowen, Sonje Mayo, Bob Liekens, Karen Frischmann, Benjamin Degenhardt, Blossom Leilani-Crawford and other amazing teachers and is a graduate of MeJo Wiggin's Classical Syllabus Program (2016), Clare Dunphy’s Advanced Teaching Seminar (2017) and The Pilates Professionals Advanced Teacher Training at The Red Thread Ranch, with Kathi Ross-Nash (2019). She takes her personal daily practice very seriously and enjoys working with other teachers in regular lessons and classes as a student. In 2020 under the direction of Clare Dunphy, Cecile became a mentor in Elevate: A 10 week Mentorship Program for Pilates Teachers through Progressive Bodyworks Inc. and in Spring 2021, participated in Sonja R. Price Herbert’s Decolonize Pilates Mentorship Program, striving for inclusivity, dismantling white supremacy and ensuring Pilates can be a safe space for all. Cecile was the recipient of the Mind Body Spirit Award for Community Service at the first annual Joe and Clara Pilates Awards in 2020 and named in the Best of Pilates 2020 by Pilatay. In 2022, Cecile served on the NPCP Job Task Analysis team for the Mat Certification Exam and is presently, a CEC provider.</image:caption>
